Account & data deletion
Finsibility lets you delete your entire account or request deletion of specific data without closing your account. This page explains both options.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
You can remove some or all of your personal and financial data while keeping your Finsibility account active.
In the Finsibility app
- Portfolio items: Open any financial model or portfolio item and delete it from your portfolio.
- Connected institutions (Plaid): Go to Account and disconnect any linked bank or brokerage. This stops further syncing. You can also delete individual imported items from your portfolio.
- Profile photo: Remove or replace your profile image from Account settings.
- Social data: Remove shared items, leave groups, or unfriend connections from within the app.
By email
Email privacy@finsibility.com from the address associated with your account. Use the subject line Data deletion request and describe what you want deleted (for example, a specific portfolio item, connected institution data, or profile information). We will verify your identity and process the request.
What we delete
Depending on your request, we delete or anonymize the specific data you identify, such as portfolio items, imported Plaid data, profile information, or social content tied to your account.
What we may retain
We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (for example, billing records, fraud-prevention logs, or data needed to resolve disputes). Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you may also be retained. See our Privacy Policy for retention details.
Delete your entire Finsibility account
Deleting your account removes your login and all associated personal data. Use this option if you want to stop using Finsibility entirely.
Delete from the Finsibility app (recommended)
- Open the Finsibility app and sign in.
- Go to Account (profile tab).
- Under Security, tap Delete Account.
- Type the confirmation phrase please delete all my data in finsibility and tap Delete my account.
Your account will be scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period. To cancel a pending deletion during that period, email contact@finsibility.com from the address associated with your account. After 30 days, deletion is processed automatically and cannot be undone.
Delete by email
If you cannot access the app, email contact@finsibility.com from the address associated with your Finsibility account. Include the subject line Account deletion request and your username or account email. We will verify your identity and process the request.
What we delete when you close your account
When your account is permanently deleted, we remove or anonymize personal data associated with your account, including:
- Account profile and login credentials
- Portfolio items, financial models, and related calculations
- Connected institution data imported via Plaid (linked accounts, balances, holdings, and synced transactions)
- Shared items, groups, friends, and social data
- Notifications, preferences, and subscription records tied to your account
- Profile image stored on our servers
What we may retain after account deletion
We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as:
- Records needed to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or prevent fraud
- Data we are legally required to keep (for example, certain financial or tax records)
- Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you
